Cuidemos Nuestra Salud is a program that supports organizations to promote the importance of nutrition and active living habits. Each organization has promotores de salud (health promoters) to address the obesity epidemic occurring in the Latino community in the United States.
Inactivity, bad eating habits and illnesses like hypertension and diabetes are common barriers to healthy living in the Hispanic community, and people are in need of a program that teaches them how to take care of their health in a straight-forward manner. The program is a two hour charla (talk) in Spanish Latino adults about nutrition and physical activity presented in English and Spanish.
Goals:
Target Population: Spanish speaking adults, 18 years of age and older
Partners: National Council of La Raza , other Latino-serving organizations throughout Wisconsin
Funded by the National Council of La Raza.
