Help the United Community Center (UCC) and The Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee celebrate the opening of the Olga Village. View the invitation online here.
Built on UCC’s campus, Olga Village is a landmark new housing community dedicated to providing environmentally sustainable and affordable living options for Milwaukee's seniors. The new complex will provide 37 affordable apartments, and residents will have access to the services of the UCC, including a senior meal program; social, recreational, and educational activities; arts and crafts, music, and cultural arts; transportation; and social services. Olga Village stands next to, and will eventually be connected to, the UCC-US Bank Village, which provides low-income housing to seniors from the near south side community.
The building’s design incorporates several “green” features, including ground-source heat pumps for heating and cooling, a green roof, energy-efficient windows and doors, earth-friendly construction materials, and a stormwater management system. In addition, solar power is slated to be incorporated to further enhance the building's environmentally sustainable design.
