Health & Athletics

The Health and Athletics programs at the United Community Center provide quality, meaningful programs and activities that promote good health, positive social interaction and community building.

Athletics and Leagues

UCC provides seasonal sports leagues, local and regional sports events, clinics and tournaments for youth and adults. Organized recreational activities aim to help youth and adults develop healthy lifestyles, physical activity, team building, positive social interaction, and high self-esteem. The Athletics Department has two gymnasiums, a boxing ring, and a practice field.

One of our most popular activities in the Athletics Department is the Felix Mantilla Little League, sponsored by the Brewers Community Foundation.

Fitness Center

The UCC's César Pabón Fitness Center offers a wide variety of cardiovascular, aerobic and strength building equipment, as well as a variety of group exercise classes, with the hope of reducing the risk of many of the diseases and health conditions that are prevalent among Hispanics and other U.S. residents, such as high cholesterol, obesity and diabetes. Cultural heritage is also promoted throughout the center, as members enjoy the sounds of Salsa and Meringue during regular aerobics classes. Childcare is provided to members during their workout.

Health Center

In partnership with the Columbia College of Nursing, on-site health care, screening and preventative services are provided to UCC clients, students and families.
