This time of year at UCC is always blooming with excitement. With the winter behind us, everyone is enjoying the sunshine, green grass, and colors of spring. Add to that our students anticipating graduation and eagerly awaiting the end of the school year, and you can almost feel the difference in everyone’s mood as the dreary days of winter become the sunny days of spring.
Right around the corner, we will be starting summer, which is filled with new adventures for our students to explore, including a trip to Washington, D.C., a trip to Europe for a summer concert series for some our youth musicians in the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra, and orientations for high school and college freshmen as they prepare for their next levels of education.
This season always starts with our Anniversary Dinner, which was held April 27th and involved almost 500 corporate and community members, as well our many of our students and staff. This annual celebration allows us to thank the many supporters who partner with us to serve the community.
We also had the opportunity to showcase the musical talents of our students, highlight some of our most exceptional students with the Wall of Fame, and honor outstanding supporters with the Friends of the Hispanic Community Award. With a room full of supporters and friends, it was easy to see how UCC has been able to grow and flourish for more than 42 years.
Spend a few minutes with UCC’s May-August 2012 Newsletter to find out about new programs, partners, and volunteers that share the belief that together we can make a big difference for the future of the community. This is most definitely a season of great potential just waiting to reach its full bloom.
