UCC Aging & Disability Programs

Supporting and Uplifting Our Seniors

What We Do:

United Community Center's (UCC) Aging & Disability Programs promote social interaction, health, education, and recreation to support and enrich the lives of elderly and disabled members of the Hispanic community.

Why it Matters:

Studies have found that older adults who interact with people beyond their usual social circle are more likely to have higher levels of physical activity, greater positive moods, and fewer negative feelings. At UCC, we believe every golden year should shine with joy, dignity, and community. Through our Senior Center, Adult Day Care, Memory Clinic, and independent living residencies, we are able to provide robust offerings to these community members. To meet the needs of the majority Hispanic clients, programs incorporate culturally appropriate activities, cuisine, and celebrations of the participants’ culture and heritage.

UCC Adult Day Center

UCC's Adult Day Center provides services designed to meet the needs of those with cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer's and other dementia, as well as individuals with caregiver needs and physical impairments. The program is structured and comprehensive, providing a variety of health, social, recreational, and support services in a protective setting during the daytime hours.

Our goal at the Adult Day Center is to ensure all participants truly enjoy each day by offering a variety of opportunities for them to experience at their own pace. In addition, the Adult Day Center strives to provide support for all caregivers.

Care Management Program

As a care management unit, UCC assists in coordinating comprehensive long-term care services to frail elders and adults with physical, developmental and intellectual disabilities who are Medicaid eligible and enrolled through the Family Care program.

The program is designed to maintain an individual's present level of functioning as long as possible while preventing premature or inappropriate institutionalization. Examples of services offered through this program include adult day care, counseling, home health services, and transportation.
